Venus Flytrap: Plz help me

There is a band here in Thailand called Venus Flytrap. The members are all ladyboys. Really.

Why aren’t you just the cutest lil’ guest I ever did see.

Here’s a bump for yah.

(Actually I think VFTs are tremendously interesting, I so would like to see if someone has some non-googleable stories)

A few reality checks. VfT’s like to die. Well, not really, it is just that they are rather sensitive to their climate and you don’t live in a marsh, so don’t expect too much. Especially if you buy one in some drug or gift store.

Next, they might catch and eat maybe one small fly every month or so. Hardly pest control.

They do have a nice terrarium set up for several marsh loving carnivorous plants, including the sundew and the pitcher plant. It has a semi-sealed environment. You let a few fruit flys or tiny crickets in every so often.

Very cool!

That sounds so incredibly cool in a goofy kind of way. Have they recorded a CD yet? Where can I hear them?

Yes, actually they have recorded a CD, but I can’t say I’ve paid the band much attention. The novelty of an all-ladyboy band is what accounts for their fame (notoriety?) and not so much their talent I’m afraid.

Entering “venus flytrap” into Google (like that, with the quotation marks) plus the word Bangkok outside of the quotes will get you some information. This link was at the top when I did that.

Ah, and I see there are a couple of YouTube videos: Here and here

I would suggest you ask your question over here but it is a family website.

It is said that the tooth of a Venus Flytrap, if carved into a flute and a certain combination of notes are played, will summon the lady of the wood, who will turn any nearby raddishes to onions.
