At any rate, the “I’m so sorry, I have to [verb] my [noun] at [place] and therefore won’t be around to [verb] your [unspoken unpleasant adjective] [noun]” - better known as the “I have to wash my hair” excuse saves feelings.

I think you should blow off [Name]. [Noun]s should be attractive or [verb +ing] with [noun] is a non-starter.
