Went to see my favorite band last night in Sacramento. Swung by the merchandise table early, and saw the one and only copy of the 3 CD live album they recorded in November last year over three nights at The Fillmore. I went to two of the shows. Only $20 for a 3 disc deluxe box set. I’m the cheapest bastard alive and even I thought that was a good deal. I grabbed it! Stuck it in my back pocket and watched the show… Got home _late_ that night (400 mile round trip). Went pretty much straight to bed (minus Dog nonsense). Unloaded the car in the morning. Carefully removed the plastic wrap from the CD set. It was a fancy “double fold”, where you open it like a book, then open the two flaps outward, so you have a 4 panel spread, to hold 3 CD’s and a liner note booklet. I open it up, and the first thing I see is a picture taken from the left side of the stage, showing the band. And **BANG!** Right there in the front is clearly \*\*ME! \*\*Recognizable, unmistakable, **ME!** Well, that is\* fucking cool…\* Then I get into the 24 page liner note booklet. Nice stuff. Good commentary from the band, photos and artwork. Then I get to the “centerfold”. The biggest, two page photo of the whole book… And **BANG!** There I am AGAIN! **ME!** Right up fucking front, full on in the picture! Again, unmistakably fat ugly _ME!_ I now belong to the ages… 😃 - Later that day…\* Went off-roading, and got a couple shots at a coyote. Think I hit him. Broad daylight, right were my dogs would have been if I didn’t spot the bastard first. Had my Trac phone and was ready for the call. Won tickets from the radio station (caller Number Seven, Baby!) for the same band Saturday in a pretty nice venue (I had a ticket, now I get to take wife and kid). Came home and been drinkin’ since. Correctly answered all the “Double Jeopardy” questions. Damn near perfect day! Only better if I cooked up a huge steak, whipped up some shrimp scampi or escargot (been know to do that) and cracked a bottle of the wife’s “Big Chicken” wine. But there is always tomorrow! ---
