I think it would take more than a few rabbits killed and eaten for food for that to happen.

You can thank the folks at Disney for turning a natural occuring event into something a parent thinks might
turn his kids against them.
Maybe I don’t read enough history books but I’ve never heard of anyone pre-disney worring about what his
kids would think of killing
an animal for food.

Here are a couple of links to a group of artists that work with things like these. All their projects are well thought out, designed, tried and tested - and it’s ‘open-source’ which means they publish the instructions on how to construct it yourself.
Here’s a hydroponic system and here’s another.

I heard they’re working on some kind of fish-farm system for home use now (as well as a honey farming system for big city residents); maybe they’re having trouble because the manual isn’t out yet.
