Very surprised more people haven’t heard of this. It was “common knowledge” when/where I grew up. I know there are several songs that mention it but the only one I can think of right now is the MF Doom song that says: listen here scooter, let her try to bag you when she’s on the rag never let her fry the Ragu which will have you under some type of spell crying “dag boo” her name on ya back in her tattoo ---

Age – 28 2. state/region/country from which you hail – East Coast US (have moved around a lot and not culturally tied to one spot) 3. ethnicity (yes, this is important to the poll for a change) – white, with no strong ethnic cultural ties (ie not strongly Irish- or Italian-American, etc.) 4. would you eat spaghetti made “especially for” you by a woman not related to you? Sure, why not? Assuming I knew the person and it was not particularly unusual in our relationship for her to cook something for me. 5. spoiler why not, if the answer is no – NA ---

Ok, I just read the spoiler. That’s disgusting. I come from a very strong sicilian family and have _never_ heard of that. But then again, we aren’t all that superstitious, either. Some people are weird. ---

I love spaghetti, even if I didn’t if they went through the trouble specially for me- I’d feel like I should at least go over and enjoy the meal as much as possible. Now with the wife and chilluns, it would depend on the situation… 5. I guess I’ll spoiler this since that seems to be the deal with question 5. Since I said it depends I will explain, but It’s probably apparant. I’m obviously not going put myself into a situation that would be inappropriate to my marriage. This actually happened to me once when we were engaged, I was completely naive to the whole thing going in. As the situation started to get uncomfortable and it became apparant what was going down- I made up some excuse to beat it and got out. On the other hand, I have a few friends that are female that neither my wife or I would think twice about if I ended up having dinner with them somehow. ---

Okay, that’s gross. Note to self: If I’m ever dating a black chick, I’ll be sure to take her to Olive Garden for pasta. Also, when I used to work at Fazoli’s, I had a similar spell involving the alfredo sauce. 😃 ---

Nothing to do with pasta here in the Caribbean but it’s a well known joke that your soup could get tainted and if someone did something like that they would be working Obeah which is illegal here. ---
