One day closer to the weekend! This has been an exceptionally long week for some reason.

I tempted fate by posting on Facebook that it was time to put away the big Winter coat and get out my gorgeous and fabulous new blue mac…so far the gods do not hate me and it is still a nice day here in Paris!

Spent yesterday with my new boyfriend, who played up his Irish side like no one’s business. 😃 We went to dinner with his parents; his mother already hates me for a variety of reasons, and his dad is the cool, clever, English-Lit professor type. We all drove over to Dunedin and listened to a band for a little while. The air was incredibly fresh and cool, the crowd was jumping, the beer was flowing, and all was well and good with the world. It was the first time I actually felt like St. Patrick’s Day was a holiday.

We’re doing baking (more baking, bread this time) and I’m mostly sitting around watching other people work. Not too bad. 😃
It’s frikking gorgeous outside, which is good, because it’s supposed to get a little cooler next week. Not as cold as they were predicting yesterday- highs over freezing. Thank goodness.
Oh. Someone at the door. Oh, someone from _our water heater company_ who _just wants to come in for a minute_…

**swampy** , don’t get mad…get even! With a little patience, I am sure an opportunity will arise.
Hope kitteh has come back, **soapy**! My daughter told me this morning that her orange tabby was sitting on the fence this morning when she took the new puppy out. Apparently he slipped out the night before and she didn’t know. He was not amused.
I did wear green for St. Pat’s but then, I always do since that’s the color of my eyes. 😃
Had my interview this morning and I think it went well. Just wrote my thank you notes and will have Mr. Anachi mail them for me tomorrow. I likes to be prompt like that. Now I’s tahr’d and need to take a nap so I’m wide awake for two hours of Flash Forward tonite.

Dang **Swampy** , whatever has happened to the nice young priest?! That was just rude of him to do that! ☹ Hope you’re going to discuss this with him… nicely of course. 🙂
I’ve been good so far _knock on wood three times_, but it’s also left me fairly worn out, trying to make credit time as I don’t use any leave. LOL Which is a round about way of explaining my non-presence in the MMP from time to time!
Here’s something semi-interesting that I’ve noticed since using a rollator: when I get on a bus, I usually sit in the front, the side-facing seats that are supposedly reserved for handicapped and the elderly. Heh, I qualify on both parts now, I reckon. Anyways, I’ve noticed that if I sit on the left hand side, it’s easier for me to maneuver the rollator and get into a position where I can hook one of the feet over the rear wheels to hold the rollator (in addition to putting the brake locks on) in place; if I sit on the right hand side, it just discombobulates me! I don’t know why that happens, and I’m right handed, if that makes any difference. Is this a question I should put to Ask Cecil?!

I’ve done my taxes. They were super easy, mainly because I do it electronically and all of my info from last year was instantly imported to this year’s forms. I’m getting closer to my dream return - $0 owed, $0 refund. We have to pay the Feds a little over $200, but we’re getting more than $1000 back from the state. I’m getting FCD to change his W4 to have less state taxes withheld. The money will be nice, but I’d rather have it when we earn it.
I love electronic filing. If Maryland does like last year, the money will be in my account next week. Next year, we’ll be getting the tax credit for these new windows, and we’ll need it. Every year my income goes up a little, and every year our mortgage interest goes down a little, so every year, we pay more in taxes. I don’t mind paying my share, but doggone, I don’t appreciate being penalized for doing well in my career. It feels as if I just end up giving my raise to the tax man and the health insurance guys. I shouldn’t complain, since we’re doing well and for the first time ever, money really isn’t a huge worry. But doggone, I’d like to get to where money isn’t a worry at all. I guess unless you’re Bill Gates, that ain’t gonna happen.
So, sorry guys, no mega Mump-fest on me this year. Stoopit tax man. 😛
\*\*FCD \*\*wants to go out for supper, so I need to get out of these grungy sweats and ratty T-shirt and dress like an adult. As soon as daughter gets home and gets changed, we’ll be off to… um… somewhere.

**Stauderhorse** , that sounds like a fun time! Don’t worry about BF’s mom… they can be notoriously hard to win over (though I lucked out with mine, since she always wanted a daughter… so she’s adored me pretty much from day 1).
**LiLi** , I believe that both morning glory and cosmos can be grown by sowing seeds directly into the ground (as opposed to growing indoors, which you have to do with plants that need an early pre-frost start like 'maters). Cosmos are notoriously difficult to kill, so you’d basically have to set them on fire to fail. 😛
Glad the pre-interview went well, **Nava**. Are you just doing a little consulting over the summer school break, or is it a permanent shift back into the workforce?
I’m still waiting on some paperwork for my taxes (namely, the form I need to write off my investments, which kind of an important piece of paper… no?) Not looking forward to actually doing said taxes, though I _am_ looking forward to the refund I will likely get.
BTW, guess who just wrote her very first honest-to-goodness application policy? Yep. I guess I can officially say I’m a policy analyst now… I was just faking it before. 😃 It still has to go through several steps before it’s approved and official and stuff, but it’s still pretty jake as a certain bear would say.

Howdy Y’all! My irkweek is oooooooooooooooooooooooooovah!!! :D:D:D
So what wild and crazy thing did I do? I made a meatloaf! I know, I know, pace myself. Don’t do all the wild and crazy stuff in one day.
YP and I shall have us a sit down tomorrow afternoon late. I have told him that I was both hurt and embarrassed last night and that I need to talk face to face. I will indeed insist on a public apology because I feel that he needs to and I deserve one. Then I will put it all behind me. If I were somebody who would do such things, I could make a big stink but that would not resolve the issue.
Thanks y’all for all the support and creative ways of revenge. They entertained me muchly. 😃
Now I gotta go see about a meatloaf.

Are you applying for a job as an employee or is this planned to be another consulting gig? Are either of these the company where you worked for SheBoss?

Had pita/pizza for dinner, with ham, baby shrimp and red pepper. Quite tasty. Also mandarin oranges. (Not on the pizza.)

**FCM** –Don’t be offended, but some of the homemade stuff that’s been brought in over the years has been a bit “iffy”… Not that yours would be, but you might be better off with Krispy Kremes or the like or store bought cookies (like Mrs Fields, not Oreos!) or a big tin of popcorn (3 flavored).
But first, I’d make sure the nurses/staff are cookie-worthy. If you’re treated badly, there is no way a small “bribe” is going to help–because obviously, they don’t care. I doubt you’ll be treated badly. IME, most people (not all) treated badly aren’t treated badly at all–it’s that their expectations did not meet reality (or IOW, their hospital stay did not go as they expected it to), due to ignorance on their part, lack of guidance by the staff or just plain old bad news re prognosis/diagnosis.
Most RNs and staff respond well to civility and respect (how odd!). I know you and FCD will do that as a matter of course, so now on to the cookies/treats etc.
1. Make sure that there is enough for more than just day shift. Days gets everything and nights and PMs get the short end of the stick–a LOT. And if you have specially designated “off shift” goodies, it’s best to bring them in ON that off shift, because Days is not above stuffing their fat mouths and leaving nothing (but I’m not bitter about my years as a night nurse–not one bit!). This is impractical for night shift, but if you give the night one at the same time as PMs, there’s a good chance nights will get it.
Don’t ever worry about singling out a special nurse or two and only giving to them. They don’t take tips, but small boxes of chocolate or whatever are always nice.
Flowers are mostly not allowed in hospitals now–check at the front desk. If they are, I can think of nothing so nice so early in spring than fresh flowers–it doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate, but if you bring cut flowers, make sure you have a vase for them.
Talk about a long answer to a short question.
**LiLi** : morning glory seeds should be soaked overnight, after being scored by a sharp knife, then planted. This aides germination-you won’t hurt the seed or the plant at all. Cosmos can be sown straight into the ground, once the ground is warm, but you will need to thin the seedlings. Morning glories do best in fairly crappy soil–they do not need or want to be pampered. They do only bloom in direct sun, though–and usually in the morning (what a surprise).
I had a good/bad day at work. I got yelled at for (what I consider) a stupid thing. I am so very tired of being treated as if I were 12. Bah-it left a bad taste in my mouth, but it all should blow over.
So very tired–cannot sleep at night and so am sleepy now. Gah.
