We always called that “Telephone”. Your Mileage May Vary.
**Soapy** , don’t sweat the bad review on that site. In practice, it’s all about the poison pen. I looked up some of my professors when I did BS v2.0, and it universally slammed everyone I could find. The really bad prof I had wasn’t even listed, the good ones I had were listed and treated harshly.
Of course, I was a non-traditional student at that time. I tended to treat my professors as colleagues, not objects of awe or derision.

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD
Crap.
So, a few weeks ago, after an evening board meeting, me and a couple cow-workers stopped at a local watering hole for a bit. A woman there and I kept doing the “I know you” glance at each other. Now, keep in mind, I am NOT picking up strange women in any case, most especially in front of colleagues, in a place where the Wife and I hang out and know the beertenders well.
But as this woman walked out, I had to stop and ask the ‘don’t I know you from somewhere?’ question, which was clearly not taken as a line because she kept thinking the same thing and neither of us could put our fingers on it. We traded names in case that helped - it didn’t. One of my buddies was wearing a jacket identifying where we work, she said ‘oh you work for the school district?’, I told her yes we all do.
Just now, I was waiting for my lunch at Panera when I feel a hand on my shoulder - it’s my new pal.
Handing me her business card, and mentioning an after dinner drink or whatever someday soon, but not right here in town “where everyone knows us”.
I mumble something non-committal, grab my soup and head for the car. Where I notice that she wrote that xoxoxox stuff on it, signed it on the back and that it smells really nice.
Hey, she’s about my age maybe 3-4 years younger, very nice looking, etc… So, yeah, kinda flattered.
But, uh…no thank you. Trouble with a capital T, huh?

Come out, **gnat2.0**!
I like to think I’m not superstitious, but I still have to knock on wood when I say something worthy of knocking on wood. And I’m very concerned that there’s no wood at work to knock on.
I’ll have to go back and finish reading last week’s MMP to see **gt’s** review of the Italian bread. I did not get around to making it this weekend. I thought about it… and… did nothing. Sunday was gorgeous out - record-setting high of 64 yesterday and sunny and wonderful. I spent most of the afternoon outside. We got the bikes out for the first time this year. We sat on the patio for the first time this year. It was great.
I did make a carmelized onion mac & cheese for dinner last night that was amazing. It was close to [this recipe](http://www.rachaelraymag.com/recipes/rachael-ray-magazine-recipes/rachael-ray-30-minute-meals/French-Onion-Mac--n---Cheese). It was goooooooooooood.
And I made \*\*Haze’\*\*s lesbian chocolate gingerbread for dessert. Half of it is at work today getting devoured quickly.

{{ **Soapy** }} It’s like online product, restaurant, or hotel reviews. You always have to read those with a grain of salt - most of them are written by people who are angry and so have very little if anything to do with the actual quality of the product, restaurant, or hotel. Don’t let one bad apple ruin it for you.

**LiLi** , baked custard is actually ridiculously easy. Much easier than making custard on the stovetop, actually, since there’s less risk of curdling the mixture and ending up with sweetened scrambled eggs instead. The hardest part is getting the baking dish out of the oven without spilling boiling water all over yourself and/or the custards. 😛
I vote mac n’ cheese, BTW, but both options sound rather yummy.
**MBG** , at least you don’t have Bobbio’s problem… then again, it might be too early to tell if she’s intoxicated or crazy. 😃 So there’s still hope.
**Nava** , we also called it “Telephone”. I’ve also heard the game called “Broken Telephone” or “Chinese Telephone”, though I suspect the latter name will have since been quashed by the PC Police (though IIRC, it wasn’t intended to be derogatory, but rather to refer to the fact that the message gets so garbled by the end that it may as well be in Chinese)

Oh, I almost forgot. My mom got a tiny graphic job for me. It’s just redoing the logo for the company she works for - not making any changes, just cleaning it up. I think it’ll end up being an easy 50 bucks.

I don’t know if that’s exactly correct - compare [Chinese Fire Drill](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_fire_drill)
According to wikipedia, Telephone was also called Chinese Whispers, especially in Europe. I always heard it as Telephone.

We always called it “Telephone” or “Gossip”. My personal name for it was “Stoopid Game”. I was a grump even as a cub.

C’mon Babeh!!! Get borned already! Sheesh!
I survived Monday, and that’s all I’m gonna say about that. It was a drizzly, dreary day, and everyone at work was bitching and whining about the impending reorg. They complain about all the management layers, then they complain that there are limited advancement opportunities. Um DUH! Where else do you expect to advance if not into management? You expect the HR Fairy to invent highly paid positions just for _you_?? They’re all idiots.
Oh, and there’s a survey on our home page asking if anyone is interested in being in a talent show. When I left, it was 76% NO, 5% yes, and the rest Maybe. I’m thinking that’s a pretty definitive vote. I don’t know whose stupid idea that was. On the other hand, I could dust off my accordion… 🆒
I got to come home and clean several nasty sections of carpet. I’ve got to get a crate for Scruffy. I bought one, but it’s too small, so I need to take it back and get the next size up. She’s going to be crated at night because I’m sick to death of her peeing on the carpet 2 or 3 times a week. Stoopit dog.
After I got done with the carpets, I made some burgers for supper. Then \*\*FCD \*\*did the dishes, and I’m in the chill mode. I’m ready for Firday. And chocolate. Especially chocolate. _\_
