Just slightly eerie…One night as I got into bed, by SO informed me with some consternation that just before I entered the bedroom, as he was laying there in the dark (with the miniblinds closed) he had seen two pinpoints of red light on the bedroom wall. They had been stationary for a moment, then moved slightly, then disappeared. We ran to the windows & peered out, but found nothing unusual. (2nd story bedroom, the only thing out there was a leafless tree)

We slept in the spare bedroom that night. For a long time afterward, when in bed w/ the lights off, I would check the walls before closing my eyes.

😃 I should hope it is. Hehe. Did you read the one “N Sync killed my baby”? That’s the best one…and the Born Again Slim Shady.

Speaking of religious fantantica…whenever those people, Mormons or Jehovah’s witnesses go door to door, it creeps me out. I mean…when you say “no thanks i don’t wanna join your religion,” do they think _Okay, you’re damned to hell, have a nice day_, or what? Also how they always go in pairs…

Yeah, I know, But it’s still creepy. I know people who are only a minor step down from this.

People who literly HATE other people because they are diffrent creep me out.

One of the things I find generally creepy is reading something scary, and then getting the “hair standing up on the neck” thing, where you feel like someone’s right there.

Creepy…

All this & no mention of worms Welfy?

Worms, the creepiest things in God’s green earth.

When I was about 8 my little brother used to LOVE to terrorize me w/worms. One Sunday morning I went to put on my pristine, white, patent-leather Mary Janes. My foot met with some resistance. Distracted, I just kept pushing, hard. When it finally hit me that there was something actually **in** my shoe, the damage was done. The boobytrapped worm was just a curled mass of pink SQUISH. ::: shudder ::: I don’t know how long before my parents were able to revive me.

Bear in mind, I **already** had an unnatural fear of worms (which I _believe_ I could have overcome): however, this pushed me into absolute phobia. Decades have passed; I’m proud to say that I can _look_ at one for a moment & control the impulse to melt into a quivering, blubbering, slathering, pp-in-my-pants idiot. Just don’t put one **near** me.

“The Largest, Most Powerful Assembly of Worthwhile People to Ever Exist. Unsaved are NOT welcomed.”

It took me a while to figure out that this is satire; hit the footnote site at the bottom of each page and they explain what they are all about.

I really liked the Celebration of Life cross burning with their membership in their heat-resistant KKK robes. I would, however, be terribly offended if I were a Christian. I don’t think I’ll add that site to my bookmark list…

Ahh. Don’t worry. I hate worms too. There was one in the basement…there had been a few (dead dried out) ones lying around. And once in the early morning i looked over and i saw another one. And i thought _yuch, at least its dead_. I look over at it and I think it sort of looks like its moving (but im sort of half asleep/dazed so i cant tell)…turns out it IS alive, and its moving around, rearing up…Gawd.
And the centipedes. dont get me started on them. If you’ve ever read **James and the Giant Peach** , its a lie. Centipedes are in real life, vile, nasty, and pure evil. There is NO good thing underlying them. What you see is what you get…☹

Here a few of the many things that give me shivers:

1. Driving by myself late at night while listening to oldies music. For some reason, it always calls to mind the episode of The X-Files called “Home.” You know, the one with the inbreeding and the mother under the bed? (I think someone has already mentioned this episode in the thread.)

2. The August before I entered sixth grade, my grandmother died. At her wake, I was talking to some of my friends’ parents who had come to pay their respects. All of a sudden, I felt someone tug rather forcefully on my braid. I spun around, thinking that it was my little sister, but no one was behind me and Sis Serendipity was seated on the other side of the room.

3. As many other posters have already mentioned, lakes that were built over towns are inherently creepy. My family has a camp on one such lake (Sacandaga in upstate NY) and even though I know the cemetaries that were once there have been relocated, I always wonder if maybe they forgot a few bodies. Oh, and fish scare me, too, which is why I don’t swim too far away from shore without someone to protect me. 🙂

Yesterday, I picked up my paycheck from the temp agency downtown. When I got into the elevator to ride down to the lobby, the elevator stopped at almost (but not quite) every floor between 17 and the lobby. No buttons appeared pressed, and when the doors would open there would be no one waiting for the elevator. I saw all these really, really, really empty-looking office building lobbies. No company names, no people, no reception desks, no suite numbers, no nothin’. The building appeared deserted except for the floor with the temp agency. It wasn’t menacing, but definitely fits the bill of very vaguely creepy.

I am a Christian and that site doesn’t really offend me, actually I find it very funny. My favorite was the “WWF = World Wide Fagottry” story. The creepy thing is that some real churches are almost as intolerant as Landover Baptist.

A couple of years ago I received a strange envelope in the mailbox addressed to me in handwriting I had never seen before.

I opened it and all that was inside was a piece of notebook paper, slightly crumpled, with the words “THIS IS GREEN”–written in green crayon.

Nothing else was written. No name, no return address, nothing. I’m not even sure if it had a stamp on it. Since I live in the country, it would be a little difficult for someone to drop by and put it in my mailbox…vaguely creepy.

By the way, I _am_ afraid of worms, too, even though I dissected one in 9th grade Biology class. That wasn’t so bad though, since it was all dried up and dead. But show me a live, wiggly worm and I’ll run for the hills!!

I used to work in a hospital which had the staff lounges in the basement. Once in a while, when waiting for the elevators, the doors would open and there would be someone inside…but they would _not get out._ It’s the basement. Hello? The elevator doesn’t go any farther down, now does it? Where are they going that they _haven’t just been?_ I was always slightly nervous about getting on with them; as if this time, I’d found the Hell Express or something. Vaguely creepy, emphasis on the vague.

I saw an episode of Outer Limits over the weekend with Joel Grey, where he has made an android with the memories/personality of his dead son. There is a scene where the android is watching a tape of the real son, who is saying, “Dadeeeee! Come and ride the horsie!” And the android is replaying it over and over again, and mimicking it so he will sound like the real boy. First, he’s not that good, but after several rewinds, the android gets it down.

That line is haunting me still.

God I love this thread. 🙂 I really do.

Worms definitly fit the bill of creepiness…I had to dissect one in sophmore bio…it wasn’t so bad…okay, so my partner did most of the work. And the frog one. That was horrible, especially since another group of kids mutiliated the frog. One guy in my class was really getting into the dissection thing, cutting off the frog’s head and all. ::shudder:: Not pleasant memories.
Though my biology teacher said that when he was in college, he did a live one, and you would have to cut the frog open, and one person’s frog (after being cut open) jumped off the table and starting hopping around. The smell of that formaldehyde or wahtever it is still traumitizes me.

I wouldn’t have felt creepy. I would have been angry. What were your so-called friends thinking when they left you there? Did it even occur to them that it was stupid to leave a person who they knew to be sick by herself when she fell asleep and couldn’t be wakened? Did you allow these people to continue to be your friends? What was the management of the coffee bar thinking when they tried to just carry you out to the street and leave you there? Didn’t it occur to them that there was something wrong since you couldn’t be wakened?

Freaky. I don’t have Vitalogy, but I’m tempted to run out and get it now.
The TOOL album Aenema is pretty eerie itself. All those weird pictures…
