How should I start this topic. Let me just say I had a strange dream today where I got an idea, to ask that “kind” of question, but has nothing to do with my real personal life whatsoever (I think).
Hypotetical situation:
You are a male teenager. While your mom cleans your room, she finds a vibrator (or realistic dildo) in the back of one of your drawers. Reason what it was doing there is not important (practical joke of your sister, for personal usage, for gift to your girlfrend, while you are away…)
How would she react?

[Slight Hijack] My wife has a strange habbit of keeping hers in MY top drawer. I really don’t care but I’m peversly looking forward to the day I absent-mindedly open my dresser drawer in front of someone like a friend or one of my brothers and start to stammer.

My wife and I live with her parents while we save up money to buy a house (we move out in July… woot!). Her father has a really bad habit of going into our room to look for contraband (i.e. drugs, porn, etc.)
At first I was kind of irked at this whole thing, but I figured it was his house blah blah blah… Well he found a plastic bag filled with old Spearmint that I used in a ritual a couple of years back and forgot about. He gave me the first degree about how it was pot, and that he was going to call the cops. (Of course the pot was hidden in another place, but that is neither here nor there.)
So Mrsrobgruver and I started hiding our assortment of sex toys around the room in “hidden” places. I can just imagine him rummaging through our clothing and finding a 12" neon green realistic looking dildo strapped to a leather panty. Oh how I love to torture that man…

My parents came to visit me after my grandmother died in Feb. My dad asked to leave some things in my closet since they were flying home and would be returning with their car this summer. I said sure go ahead. I was just walking outside when my Dad came downstairs holding a large purple vibrator. Being the honest wonderful daughter that I am I instantly pointed at my husband and claimed it was his.
If I found a vibrator in my son’s room I would probably giggle about it and leave it out on top of his bed or something so he’d know I saw it. Of course he’s only 5 right now so if I found one in his room in the near future I’d think he stole mine.

Ummm… hijack to the OP perhaps but…
My toddler son did find/steal one out of drawers in his parent’s room and then wandered around the house with it doing what toddlers do with all new objects they find. :eek:
I’m just glad that no-one saw him other than me and my wife (who thought it hilarious), and that he won’t remember later (and need expensive therapy). 😃

Man, I thought this thread was going to be about finding your mother’s vibrator. I found hers twice – once when I didn’t know what it was and once when I did. I quit snooping for quarters in her bedroom after that second time.
If my mother found a vibrator in my belongings, I can’t really say what her reaction would be. She might assume I have a secret girlfriend I haven’t told her about. That’d lead to another discussion on her getting grandchildren. She might assume I have a “fuck buddy.” That’d probably lead to a discussion on safe sex. She might assume I am gay, bisexual, or curious. I honestly have no idea how she would handle that one. She might assume it was going to be used in a prank or was the result of a prank played on me. That’d probably lead to me telling all the details to her.

My step-brothers would have found it while riffling through my room. Then I would have found it hidden in their rooms, and taken it back. Plus interest.
I have no idea what myself and my fiance will do when/if we find one in my sons room. I mean, my fiance will laugh her ass off, but other than that, I have no idea.

The SDMB search engine will let you search for:
\*TMI
and
TMI\*
and
_TMI_
(\* designates a ‘wildcard’ character)
You will not get any hits for post that had TMI without any characters before and/or after the TMI, but you will get hits on posts that had **(TMI)** in the titles. (I’m assuming that you want to search titles only, that seems to make sense.)
You’ll also get hits of posts with **TMI…** and **TMI-** in the titles. You’ll miss a few, but you’ll get a lot of hits this way because it’s very common to put TMI in parentheses or followed by elipses or dashes.
BTW, you’ll also find all of the **Westminster Kennel Club** posts, too. 😃
