Also, the Russian submarine fire happened on _Monday_. If the VP needed to stay in Washington do…something…to deal with it, why would that decision not be made until noon on Tuesday? ---

If you thought the election was a nuthouse before… The job takes it out of people. Go look at Presidents before they took the job, compared to when they left office. It’s staggering how much they aged. I’d guesstimate 3-ish years for every year in the chair. Even with Trump, compare what he looked like, even on the Republican primary debate stage 3-4 years ago, to what he looked like walking the DMZ. He looks much older, to my eyes, and he was already 70 when he took the job. 73-74 year olds die all of the time, albeit they usually don’t get the medical care that Presidents and Supreme Court Justices do. EDIT: Ain’t that the truth, RTFirefly. This sort of thing does filter out young people. ---

This one was apparently a top-secret intelligence-gathering (and maybe counter-intelligence) sub, not an ordinary war vessel like the Kursk. We doubtless have our own in the area too. I think Pence fell asleep in the back of the plane somewhere and it took them forever to find him, so they cancelled. Then everyone was too embarrassed to reveal what happened, so they made it sound all dire and important. ---

Actually… WH confirmed Pence was “requested” so that there would be at least one observer at the freakin’, big-ass Military Might parade.
