I was reading through the Constitution and no where does it say that the Vice President must be a natural born citizen. Is this true? I know it is true of the President, but what if Arnold wants to become the VP along with Condoleeza Rice as President in 2008? is it possible?

No…the VP has to meet the same qualifications for president. If they didn’t they could not take the presidents place if that need came up.

Well hell they should put that in the constitution!

I would think it was obvious.

But what do I know.

Wasn’t the VP once the losing presidential candidate? If so he would’ve had to have met the requirements.

This is what happens when you don’t read the _whole_ Constitution and just try to skim it for the hot parts! Per the Twelfth Amendment:

> [@](#):
>
> But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.
