While I was in Victoria’s Secret today, I was wondering…WHO is Victoria and WHAT is her secret? Can ANYONE help me on this one? ---

The name was developed by a an ad agency. They took a sexy woman’s name(obviously, I cant imagine they’d get much business if it were called “Mike’s Secret”) and used the word “secret” to get people in the store and wonder what the secret was all about. It also makes women feel sexier because people always associate secrets with sex. ---

Actually, I wouldn’t call Vicky’s cheap and tawdry. It’s more feminine, dainty lacy stuff. You go in there, and the walls are covered in floral paper, the carpet is red velvet, and the dressing rooms are extremely fancy. Classical violin and piano music piped in. It’s very girly and frilly. Frederick’s of Hollywood, is what I’d call sleazy. ---

It’s not the hot pink color all over, It’s not the floral wallpaper, its not the music, it’s not the crushed velvet trim. It is the smell of the place. Cheap perfume! This must be the smell of the proverbial French whorehouse. ---

Ironically enough, Queen Victoria herself probably didn’t wear underwear, at least during the early part of her reign. Like Scots and the kilt, until the mid-nineteenth century women didn’t usually wear anything under their skirts.
