Does anyone have a recommendation for a good site to work these things out? These are hilarious, and I wanna play! I think it comes out as ‘The best thing to come out of the woods by the water’. Which isn’t saying much. That’s probably, like, a beaver or something. ---

For first names, a lot of people use [http://www.behindthename.com](http://www.behindthename.com), [http://surnames.behindthename.com](http://surnames.behindthename.com) has a sizeable database of surnames, too. If your name is particularly obscure, you can try googling “\ etymology” and hope for the best. Luckily, my first and last name both have really obvious etymologies. My middle name is a really corrupted variant so I didn’t know the true etymology until I looked it up. ---
