# Video (AVI) overlays

We’re doing a project at work that involves taking a bunch of photos and putting them into slideshows with music, then outputting into AVI for YouTube.

We’ve actually been able to automate this task but we also want to automate the placing of a logo either on the pictures pre-movie or on top of the movie once it’s finished.

I’ve found some resources to do it but it’s all for stuff like large video editing software. We are just using simple freeware to automate this stuff, and all we need is this one step.

I have seen these new little “quote balloons” popping up on YouTube, and we probably would be cool with something like that, but I have not been able to figure out how it’s done.

We’d be willing to pay for something under $100 if that’s what it takes.

Find a Mac with iMovie on it - it can do this trivially.

Or you can save your money on an overpriced PC and instead get yourself a copy of Premier elements for $99 I believe. It should handle what you want easily.

[Avidemux](http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/) is free and can also handle this.
