It’s a bit old but “Grim Fandango” certainly had a bright modern (art deco) aesthetic. Also the best game ever.
I can think of plenty examples. Are you looking for a particular genre/platform combo though? Some of my favorites with abundant colors are both Uncharteds, Flower, Joe Danger, GT5P, the Disney racer with all the explosions, Zen Pinball, Ratchett, Hustle Kings, Super Stardust HD (Endless mode in particular), LittleBigPlanet, Final Fantasy XIII, and Home … to name a few just on PS3.
True, but definitely not modern. It has a deliberately retro style. Still unique to look at for an FPS, and rather whimsical on top of that.
Bah. I like the game a lot, but one thing that really annoys me is that there are tons of environmental features which look like they might do something but don’t. Like the skeletons: half the time you can loot them, but mostly they’re just there for show. You still have to move the cursor over all of them, though. :smack:
How could I forget Wipeout HD? Particularly the Zone/Detonator modes fit the OP perfectly, that and Flower’s final level in particular. And on 360 there’s Rez HD. I’ll come back to post video tomorrow.
Looks interesting. I don’t usually play racing games and didn’t have them in mind when I wrote the OP, but the look of Wipeout, from the screenshots I’ve seen, is exactly what I am talking about.
