Didn’t see this posted anywhere else, so if it is, mods plz feel free to move it. Can you sit through the entire video and have no reaction? Let me know in the comments of this thread. Trump prefaces what he’s about to do as “getting even”, then orders someone who answers to him to come out on a stage, where he proceeds to humiliate her verbally in front of an audience, then forces a kiss on her. It’s far from unheard of for two people who like each other, or even love each other, to banter in such a way that can easily create a false impression. If you think what Trump said was bad, you would be twice as horrified at things that my Dad and I say to each other. But we don’t talk that way in public, because people who don’t know us would be convinced that we hate each other. Some people seem to forget that they’re in public. I saw two friends giving each other a hard time in the way that some friends do – nothing more than that. ---

The response from Jennifer seems to be the same one that one would expect from someone with a personality type that puts up with abuse and makes excuses for it. I readily admit this is just my impression of that situation, and that it’s important to consider that she may be on the level, but in my experience in life, if someone makes excuses for those who abuse them, they do it reflexively even if they’re not in proximity to their abuser, nor in a relationship with them. Several of my real life friends have been in abusive relationships and they almost invariably sound exactly like that. Quickly terminating the subject matter after giving an abrupt pass to the person who did it. Telling is the part where she says she doesn’t want to say anything negative because it’s the kind of person she is. I believe that. She thinks it would actually be bad to say anything bad about this person, and would feel extremely guilty if she did. That’s part of how these abusive relationships (including employer-employee) get maintained, instead of destroyed immediately by the victim standing up for herself. Trying not to project characterizations onto someone or be an internet psychologist, but I’m noting what I’m seeing here has a very spooky similarity to everyone I’ve ever seen in a psychologically abusive relationship or worse. Feel free to tell me to STFU for this speculation, but it is uncanny. ---

@ the link from GuanoLad. It’s also how she behaved on stage. She was apologetic the whole time, even when Donald was clearly behaving in a manner meant to be openly vindictive and humiliating. She also did as she was instructed while he was verbally abusing her. Her only form of protest was to not enthusiastically accept his forced kiss and then asked if she could sit down now, demonstrating her discomfort. That may be as much resistance as this person can give. Some people unfortunately cannot defend themselves because they’ve been taught their whole life not to. ---

I can see why she might give a tepid response just to avoid the hassle - it’s not her country, the issue’s not worth her time. It might be mildly interesting to ask her again after Trump loses, but I can picture her giving the same response.
