Sometimes a villain is a tortured, angst-ridden misguided soul for whom we feel sorry. Other times, he’s just a wank ass who made you cheer when he bought the farm. I was watching “Sling Blade” this weekend and I remembered I always thought Dwight Yoakam’s character Doyal got exactly what was a’comin’ to him. Your favorites? VCNJ~ ---

Okay, we can do books, right? Spoiler for book 3 of _A Song of Fire and Ice_ (Ice and Fire? Fuck. My brain isn’t working.) Joffrey fucking Lannister. THANK YOU, GRRM. Finally. My friend and sometimes cheer each other up by reminding ourselves that at least Joffrey Lannister is dead. I wasn’t too upset when his grandpa bit it, either. ---

Emperor Palpatine. He and he alone is responsible for us having to sit through Episodes 1-3. If he’s stayed to the straight and narrow, none of that cinematic dreck would have been necessary. Therefore it was fitting that he die like a dog. ---

Tim Roth’s character in _Rob Roy_, and Gary Oldman’s in _Leon - The Professional_ are the most loathsome villains I can think of. Well, that and the main guy from _The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover._ I find that movie to be pretty loathsome all around, though. Magua in _The Last of the Mohicans_ is good one too. ---

It’s a shame he took the Red Viper with him, but man, what a horrible, well deserved death. (BTW - Ice and Fire) ---

Incidentally, At the time, I was as happy as you were when Tywin took his lask trip to the bathroom. But Martin has a way of messing with you. After watching his various family and relatives reminiscing over his live throughout Book 4, I actually started to regret his death. Sure, he was an unforgiving man, completely without empathy, mercy and kindness, but he also possessed considerable abilities, was never _needlessly_ cruel, and he sincerely believed that he was doing what was best for his family and for his country - in that order. Plus, his death put Cersei in charge, which was not, shall we say, an optimal situation. ---
