# Virgle Pioneer-anyone else (almost) fall for it?

A surprising link on the Google home page:  
A Cool World: Enjoy a rosier future as a Virgle Pioneer.

I was, to put it politely, very surprised. Goes to show how much creditability one can have just by owning a few billion dollars. I took it far more seriously than I should have. It wasn’t until the bottom of the FAQ that I found the April Fool’s joke.

So the question, I fell for it-did anyone else? Will this go down as a truly great April Fool’s joke or just another waste o’ bits?

I went to Google’s page this morning looking for the April Fool’s joke - in previous years, they’ve had the [Google LunarPlex](http://www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html), [PigeonRank](http://www.google.com/technology/pigeonrank.html), and others. There are other pranks scattered around their website as well.

Ditto on that. My first thing to do the morning of April 1 is to go to Google and see what the joke is this year. Given that the Virgle link was the only non-standard thing on the front page, I had it pegged almost immediately (I didn’t confirm until I followed the “Is this real?” question in the FAQ…no need to jump to conclusions, right?).
