I just have to comment that this first name business is creepy. OP - Unless the person uses their first name regularly while posting (like Quasi/Bill), digging through their profile to find their name and then using it to address them is a bit off putting. Better to address people here by their user name. Just a friendly suggestion if you plan on sticking around after drumming up traffic for your website. ---

Your 1st (and last) name appears in your contact info as part of your email address (just fyi in case you want to clamp that down). Mangetout’s name requires going to his personal webpage and reading his “About Me” page. Not difficult, but way more steps than someone should take as a normal course of board behavior. ---

Also, his website may be legit and not contain any harmful links, but isn’t it obvious that he’s trying to build up his viewer numbers on a personal page (probably to make it more attractive to advertisers or to monetize it in some other way.) Threads like this have been locked or deleted many times in the past (right, Quasi?). ---

Yep. Still trying to put it behind me, and there’s a big warning to myself sticking on the monitor.:). Regarding the “culture” of the site: I find I have to agree we should use the person’s chosen nick unless they, themselves, choose not to do that.
