Visiting Washington DC late September

Agreed with others that out of those choices, DuPont is the better place to stay.

I got tired of Air BNB and damage deposits, so I ended up booking the Days Inn 4400 Connecticut Avenue. Inexpensive rate at $125 for Wyndham hotel members. Too bad Marriott picked this day to take their website down for updating since I usually stay with them.

I read reviews on Trip Advisor, I know it’s a Days Inn so I’m not expecting luxury. On the other hand, I’ve generally found that the city versions of chain hotels like Days Inn, La Quinta, Courtyard, to be a step above the usual ‘off the freeway’ type motels.

I got the US Capitol tour and Library of Congress tour from Senator Duckworth. The rest of the trip will be museum heavy during the day, monuments at night. Since the Nationals look out of it, I’ll be hoping for good seats on Stubhub for Sept. 25.

Thanks for all the advice!

Easy Red Line access. Just be sure to check the WMATA website as the date approaches. They’ve been doing a lot of work without a lot of notice.

I’ve downloaded the MetroHero app, and yes, I’m well used to unexpected track work here with the CTA.

The city’s best boulangerie is like two doors up. Nice choice.
