Wait, visors aren’t semaphore devices? I thought 2 down meant “follow me home big boy.”
Or, aparrently, not. 
Why don’t they make cars with external visors/ They had them in the 1950s-they worked great!
They’re aerodynamically problematic. First, they create a lot of drag, which reduces fuel economy and top speed, and second, they create lift in places where you don’t want it and upset handling.
A few years ago we [our business] bought a Ford Bronco to turn into a plow. It had one of those visors on it. I believe this is the exact one. It’s the Eddie Bauer edition. One of the first things I did was to remove the visor. The amount of bugs trapped up there bordered in nauseating.
