Just installed Visual Studio .NET on my computer (XP) and am trying to start a new project. Can’t because Internet Information Services isn’t present. Followed the instructions to go to Add/Remove Windows Components to try to add IIS, but IIS wasn’t in the list of available components. What do I do?

IIS only runs on Windows XP Professional. I recommend that you upgrade.

If you’re the adventurous sort, you could also try to [install IIS on XP Home](http://www.webthang.co.uk/tuts/tuts_server/iis_xph/pippo_xp.asp), although I can’t vouch for it…I’ve never tried it.
