Vitamin D?

Yes. I was diagnosed. I would rather call it SA Depression. I has hit me hard migrating from gulf coast Texas to here.

Supplements made a huge difference for me. I have a pretty varied diet, but it still takes 5,000 IU/day of Vitamin D supplements to keep me solidly in the normal range.

Costco carries reasonably priced cage-free eggs, if there’s one near you. Or do you have somewhere to keep your own chickens?

Just to be clear, the happy lights (which you can get pretty cheaply these days–mine was $40) don’t help with the Vitamin D. They just help with keeping your diurnal clock the same as it was in the summer, by simulating the earlier sunrise.

Vitamin D deficiency is a separate aspect thought to possibly contribute to SAD.

(I know other posters may know this. I just brought it up because I could see someone seeing the “happy light” recommendations as a replacement for Vitamin D supplementation.
