Is it still sending backwards glances (visual data from camera pointed at sun)? Or is it too underpowered to do that now?
Yes, I’d love to get a picture of our solar system, as it is left behind. Is the probe still sending images? I’ll bet the receive time for a picture is pretty long, though.
You realize that a photo of the Solar System from the outside would show one star that’s kinda bright by virtue of being close, and then a whole lot of empty space lit up by more distant stars, right? It would certainly be mind-boggling, but I think it would be a letdown after all the gorgeous close-ups the Voyager probes have given us.
