You may consider not doing what my son did - head almost directly to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. (He is due back tomorrow).

I get to go home soon too! Woo hoo! Of course, I only get to stay for two weeks and I have to come back here to finish up the year… but I’m still excited.

Just wanted to hop on here real quick to tell everybody thanks for the support and kind words. It’s been a little easier making the transition to my stateside life this time, probably because of the slow ops tempo I experienced while deployed, but the wife and baby are both doing great. Baby is all smiles 90% of the time he’s awake and my wife is enjoying the novel experience of having someone else around who will gladly take some or most of the diaper and bottle duties. Thanks again and I’ll be seeing you around again shortly (after my two weeks R&R I’ll be back on here more often).
