Sizes **Regular** **Large** **Triple** “ **Scattered** on the grill AND…” **Smothered** - grilled onions **Covered** - melted cheese **Chunked** - hickory smoked ham **Diced** - grilled tomatoes **Peppered** - jalapeno peppers **Capped** - grilled mushrooms **Topped** - Bert’s chili **Country** - sausage gravy **All the way** - all of the above If anyone’s never eaten at Waffle House, the hashbrowns are something you don’t necessarily go there for, but you kind of always have to get. The words in **bold** are the key words you use to order. “Browns: scattered, smothered, covered, chunked” would be a regular size topped with grilled onions, cheese, and ham cubes. How do you want 'em? (no poll; with the three sizes and those 8 options not counting “all the way,” there are hundreds of unique combinations; with additional ingredients like ketchup, or different cooking methods (plain with oil, seared well, steamed with ice, or cooked dry), the number of unique combinations can go into 6 or 7 figures) ---

I was on LinkedIn earlier and they suggested the CEO of Waffle House as a connection. I’ve been to Waffle Houses like 2 or 3 times. The last time 20 years ago. That’s my entire relation to the thing. Dear Algorithm: Missed it by thaaaat much. ---

Covered, but it seems they’ve gotten cheap on us these days. I vaguely remember ordering covered in my younger days, and the whole hashbrown would be covered. Now, they just throw one small slice on top leaving the outter edges uncovered. For shame!!! ---
