Waffles and applesauce. Eaten because it’s a healthier alternative that still maintains the sweetness and added moisture that syrup would provide. Not because it tastes better – syrup tastes better. ---

Butter and whipped cream. No syrup. Syrup ruins a perfectly good waffle. ---

Make a gaufrette or thin, fresh, belgian or I-Tai style waffle “bun” and then wrap around a frozen, chocolate dipped, peanut studded, banana like a hot dog. Use Peanut butter sundae topping or amish peanut butter as “mustard”, or even pineapple topping for authentic color, hot fudge if you like, maybe some marshmallow fluff and chopped maraschino “relish” and more nuts to finish.
