No. You left out the all-important word “some”. Some Republicans would probably support a Bush coup, just as some Democrats probably would’ve supported a Clinton coup. Most would not. He didn’t say all members of either party are idiots, only that there _are_ idiots in each party.

All I’m saying is that there’s a lot of idiots who support their political leader automatically, and they are of all political stripes.
