One of the Star Trek sites lists plots and explains how the Yangs and Coms came about - alien abductions from the US and China or something equally lame. Looking back, there are rather too many where some Earth renegade has established control over an alien society - _just like that_ as Tommy Cooper used to say, and at the other extreme involving ‘gods’ of some sort. ---

There are people on Omega IV who are over 1000 years old. At the time of Omega Glory, the US was under 500 years old - the Kohm that Tracey asks the age of is almost as old as the US - and it’s been generations since their war. Perhaps one of the NBC execs was a super patriot, but I never have seen any evidence for why he wrote this one except sheer incompetence. Shatner’s reading of the Constitution is right up there with Lucy in the Skies … ---

Short of full burlesque… I am reading The Star for Every Wandering right now. And Mr George STILL cannot write! ---

I must have Shatner Sickness because neither of them are doing it for me–although Jeffrey Hunter IS quite good looking. I had the Viggo Virus for quite some time post LOTR. I suppose this, too, will pass. I’m going to try to watch another episode tonight (if I can stay awake–long day at work today). And suggestions as to which one? ---
