# "Wait... I don't think I'm wearing underwear." Tonight, at a gathering of the Chidopers, out of whom one of the SDMB’s resident Aussies, **dpr** , was the guest of honor, we witnessed a very important event in the lives of two of our fellow Dopers. In attendance: Nymysys, dpr, Omniscient, MikeG, myself, Magdalene, dropzone, porcupine, Gaudere, DynoSaur, Maeglin (who flew in from NYC), JoeyHemlock, and MikeG’s kids (whose names I cannot recall… sorry, Mike). The place: Babaluci’s, an Italian eatery in the Chicago neighborhood of Bucktown, also Nym’s current place of employment. The event: The night began as your usual dopfest does. Lots of alcohol, good food, more alcohol, fun, laughter, etc. Then, around midnight, as the restaurant shut down around us, and we had drunk two toasts already, **dpr** decided to make the night one to remember. Yes, that’s right, he proposed to **Nymysys**. I must say, as one of the attendees, the look on her face was absolutely priceless. She said yes to that burning question, and the happy couple was lost in their celebration as the rest of us stood around kinda awkwardly, not sure what to do. 😉 The quote in the title was spoken by Nym as she tackled dpr and realized that cameras were going off. Oops. 😃 (MikeG and Omni, aren’t you sorry you left early?) I’m sure the rest of the Chidopers will have more tales to tell, as they headed back to Nym’s place afterwards, but dropzone needed to leave, and seeing as how he was my ride home, I needed to go too. Woo. I’m finally home from Nym’s, Maeglin is sleeping peacefully on my couch, after complaining that Chicago is “too quiet.” I had a great time tonight. Sweet and gooey happiness ( like Joey the Bartender in a glass) to the lovebirds, and hopefully more drinking Chez Nymysys! I like soup. ---

My turn to check in. I’m home, alive, tired as hell, and thinking that seeing the sun rise while driving back to Springfield two weeks in a row is a bit much. Not that that has anything to do with anything here. I’m too tired to say anything particularly witty or appropriate, so I’ll leave off with another congratulations to the disgustingly happy couple.
