And I was there! In typical JoeyHemlock fashion, I almost ruined it by saying stupid things and goading Nymmy into an argument about her not-so-favorite actress. Luckily, love prevailed and saved the day. There were some good Polaroids taken at the event, hopefully they will get scanned soon. And no matter what anyone says, I did NOT inappropriately tough NymDawg. I DID NOT! Congrats to nymmy and dpr. Dpr is my new favorite Toowoombian. ---

Didnā€™t mean to bump this, especially in the face of the Pit thread and all the other weird stuff thatā€™s been going on, but I just wanted to say how happy I am. Thank you all that were there to witness and to take pictures, and all that have posted here. We have no internet access right now, so apologies if you donā€™t hear from us much. I believe that Iā€™m going to take a break from the boards, anyway. Itā€™s wonderful to know that people do support us and are happy for us, but the undercurrent of ill-feeling that has been threatening the boards lately is really making me tired. I know message boards, like any other type of community, ebbs and flows in cycles, but this has been a bit much for me. The good news is how it got really easy really quickly to figure out who my/our friends are. Regardless, a lot of you have emailed at points, and Iā€™d like to thank you as well. Odie and Scotti and Rasa and Euty and especially Nacho4Sara and all the others, I know I didnā€™t respond as well (or at all) as I would have liked to, but do know that itā€™s circumstances surrounding me, not bad intent. Lots of people have my cell #, other than that I will check my email on occasion. I wish you all happiness, but life is too short to subject myself to peopleā€™s projections of how I should act or what I should be feeling. I canā€™t willingly open myself up for people to try to hurt me. Iā€™m just not that self-destructive. Iā€™m in love. Itā€™s wonderful. What you do with that info is up to you. I know what _Iā€™M_ doing with it. šŸ™‚ ---

Scene: Chicago, Saturday April 21 Time: nearing midnight Present: some wonderful chidopers and a stunningly attractive woman answering to the name of Tonya Suddenly drink shots appear in front of everyone. Before they fully realise whatā€™s happening the music stops suddenly and an Australian steps forward and starts saying a few words. He sincerely thanks them for their presence and the opportunity to meet them and for their company tonight. He pokes fun at Americans and trades barbs lightheartedly with one of the guests. Then, before anyone realises he turns to the beautiful one and sinks to one knee and produces, seemingly from nowhere, a ring. He gazes into her eyes and asks if she will do him the ultimate honour and make him the happiest man in the world. ā€œWill you marry me?ā€ Her wondrous eyes grow larger than normal and a smile that threatens to stop the young manā€™s heart spread accross her face and she threw her arms around him and held him tightly. A muffled ā€œIs that a yes?ā€ was heard. Somewhere after that toasts were made and even a change of venue but the young man doesnā€™t remember as much as he probably should have, for tonight was the night he made the commitment to his Soulmate. Thank you all who came on Saturday night for sharing such a wonderful moment with me. The MOST wonderful moment in my life. It was truly a pleasure to meet you all and it was fitting I had dopers with me when Nym made me the happiest man alive. We are truly happy. We are madly in love. We will be webcasting the wedding.
