You left out what’s the most obvious to a lot of people – Vincent in **Beauty and the Beast**.

Ron Perlman is a great actor with a very odd face shape, with that heavy jaw. For a long time I was afraid that he’d b limited to parts requiring an oddly-shaped actor and lots of makeup , as in B&B, and Name of the Rose, and others, culminating in Hellboy. He didn’t deserve to be treated like Rondo Hatton.

But he’s transcended that, I’m happy to say. His role in **The Last Supper** owes nothing to the shape of his face.

Almost as unnerving as seeing his head fall off, in **Alien**.

Are we \*sure \* about Buffalo Bill/Capt. Stottlemyre? I just saw Silence of the Lambs the other day, and inexperienced absolutely no “hey!” moments.

Huh. Not being a big fan, this doesn’t strike me as odd.

But the Marshal/Salvatore thing? When I learned that, 14 of my brain cells exploded.

I was watching “Saved” the other day (a surprisingly enjoyable movie) & trying to figure out why one of the female leads was so familiar - then I realized that Jena Malone the American high school student in “Saved” was also Lydia in the newest film of “Pride and Prejudice”. She’s very good. Has she been under the radar generally, or have I just been out touch, as per usual.

He was also in the _Magnificent Seven_ series, and _Blade 2_. He’s definitely my “hey, it’s him!” guy. But such a voice…

Technically she was the bride of _Frankenstein’s monster_… Valerie Hobson played Elizabeth Frankenstein. I guess the problem here is that the movie is basically titled incorrectly.

I’d say not so much under the radar as in lesser known movies.

She played a young Jodie Foster in Contact.

Someone mentioned the movie “Up the Creek” the other day to me and I was trying to remember if there was any familiar names in that movie. I finally found Tim Matheson, and looking him up, found out he was not only Jonny Quest, but also the [Vice President](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Matheson) on the West Wing.

Other Jena Malone films - Donnie Darko, The United States of Leland, and Cold Mountain (the girl on the boat).

How about one from music? It’s hard to believe it’s the same guy singing _Splish Splash_, _Mack the Knife_, and _If I Were a Carpenter_. Bobby Darin.

IMHO, the moment where you’re most likely to get it is when Jodie Foster starts asking him questions and he replies, _“Oh, wait – was she a great big fat person?”_

Saw _What’s Up Doc?_ over the weekend. You wanna talk about a movie with a bunch of “It’s that guy!” people?
[ul]
[li]The hotel manager “I have a message for you from the hotel staff. Goodbye.” is Higgins from _Magnum P.I._[/li][li]One of the thugs assigned to steal the suitcase is Sorrel Booke, better known as Boss Hogg from _The Dukes of Hazard_[/li][li]Another guy trying to steal the suitcase is the guy that had an affair with Diane Keaton in _Manhattan_.[/li][li]The young hippy dude who wants to award the grant money is Austin Pendelton, known (to me) as the old crazy killer on death row in _Oz_.[/li][li]Speaking of _Oz_, the waiter at the restaurant scene was the guy who played Bob Rebadow.[/li][li]The rich old lady with the jewels that get stolen is Phyllis Stephens from _Bewitched_.[/li][li]One of the young professors was an extremely young looking Randy Quaid.[/li][li]The cop at the final scene in front of the judge was M. Emmet Walsh. I think he had one line, but you recognize that voice instantly.[/li][/ul]
And here’s one that made me slap my forehead the first time I realized it: Ted Knight, (_Mary Tyler Moore_, _Caddyshcak_, _Too Close For Comfort_), was the narrator from the old _Superfriends_ cartoon. “Laterrrrr…at…the Hall Of Justice!”

It was some time after I saw “Raiders of the Lost Ark” that I finally recognized him from “I, Claudius”, where he played Macro, Sejanus’s second in command. The delay was because he played Macro clean-shaven.

And of course, Sejanus was played by Patrick Stewart, with hair.

Didn’t he (Ted Levine) also so the voice of Rusty Nail in Joyride, and play the agent in Fast and the Furious?

For me I was sure that I had seen Particia Arquette somewhere before and was happy to find her in “Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors”

I was also shocked to find Jake Gyllenhaal in “City Slickers” (he plays the son) and Matt Damon in a bit part in “Mystic Pizza”, and Cole Hauser as a nazi skinhead in “Higher Learning”

I’m positive that William H. Macy played the marshal/sheriff in Happy, Texax. But that doesn’t take away from Ron Perlman’s impressive body of work.
