I can’t believe anybody is seriously comparing what **Lexicon** posted to what **Jodi** posted. I don’t recall an instance of Jodi saying anything except how she _personally_ felt about the subject in discussion, and responding eloquently to some not-very-polite posts directed at her. This does not even begin to compare with telling chicks to cut their tits off if they don’t like men staring at them, or telling a fellow Doper to suck your dick. At least **GENE STONER** had the sense to get lost after he posted his misogynist garbage (or passed out, one or the other). ---

Erk. I’m a damned moron. I forgot the disclaimer that was supposed to go at the end of my above post. In the comments to **andros** , I meant to add: "Because I can see the great difference between Jodi’s statement and Lex’s reply, and know Manservant Hecubus to generally perceptive, I am going to assume that he means someone else until he says differently.: Without that, it seems that I am accusing MH of slandering Jodi, which featherlou seems to have picked up upon. I never meant to make such an accusation, and I meant to actually make a disclaimer to show I wasn’t making such an accusation, but I left it out. Just to clear up any misconceptions I was the one who swung the hammer at **Lexicon** and referred the situation to the admins, with a strong request for banning. Hang no one else for my sins. In my view, the discussion was impassioned but remaining civil and on topic until **Lexicon** turned it very ugly and very personal. Aruging vociferously is fine. Telling another poster to suck your dick isn’t. And no, one hasty comment didn’t ring the buzzer. It was the most outrageous affront in an increasingly bizarre–and abusive–tirade. Let it be noted after I warned **Lexicon** to refrain from personal attacks his response to me was (in part), “Cheers, bitch.” I don’t like being called a bitch for doing my job. Then, just to compound the fracture, he spewed out more ugly attacks on **Jodi** that I won’t dignify by repeating. This was one a total no-brainer. Cripes, how could anyone think leting him continue this way was a _choice_? And just for the record, I’d never had the slightest conflict with **Lexicon** previously. Grudges and hidden agendas–phooey. He acted like a technicolor jerk and refused to stop. It’s just that sad, simple and stupid. That said, can I finally, _puh-leeeze_ shed the Meg Ryan image? What the hell does it TAKE to be granted full status as a fascist oppressor around here? Bland–but deadly, Veb ---

I am not saying that you were playing favorites here - maybe you missed the line, or have a different standard. But it does point to one of the problems of moderating these forums - the lack of a clear-cut standard. Further, by ignoring one insult and coming down heavy on the other, you were provoking the type of response that you got. Not to say that this excuses the response - it does not. Just that you had a hand in it. ---
