Any predictions on when this place will be back to normal? I, like most non-Americans am disappointed the nut-job was re-elected, but I haven’t the energy or care to participate or read any of the threads about it. And I doubt the majority of bush-supporters would give a shit anyway. So wake me up when it’s back to normal. :o ---

I am right there with you. The political situation sucks, but the fact that it is consuming the SDMB when I could use a distraction sucks even more. I tried posting a thread having nothing to do with politics, and it is sinking like a stone. Think I’ll take a break for a few days. What a waste. Someone email me when we are back to normal and politics are only waging in Great Debates and the Pit again. ---

**Ghanima** is having a SHINY turkey at Thanksgiving. 😃 FWIW, I tried to start a good ol’ Pitting of The Dentist yesterday as a diversionary tactic. It was only mildly successful. You know its bad if you can’t get people to pit the freakin’ dentist. ---

Up here in the Frozen North, we’ve already _had_ our Thanksgiving, and the barrage has already begun. As in, I got my Ikea Christmas catalogue in the mail yesterday. Being closer to the North Pole may have something to do with it as well. ---

I have an idea…let’s have a new forum containing only threads about the outcome of the election. That way, those of us who just want to live in a politics free zone for awhile won’t have to read open-a-vein, happy dance, or other post-election content. This forum would only surface every four years. \<\\> ---

I think we should make predictions for something specific, such as when there will be no more than, let’s say, three election threads on the first page of Great Debates. (Obviously there are bound to be more threads than that on American politics, but not all will be specifically about the election.) I say 11:48 AM (EST), December 12, 2004. The number will later rise as the inauguration approaches. ---

My cat **boojum** farts all the time. Since cats don’t have ass cheeks, it just kinda goes _sssssssss_. But they smell _awful_.
