Wal-Mart haters, what have you done lately?

For your edification, duffer:

Wal-Mart Board Member Ousted

Wal-Mart attempts to build where it is not wanted.

Damned with faint praise

Wal-Mart employees on welfare

Wal-Mart settles to escape criminal prosecution

Seek and ye shall find.

What have I done?

Not that much, although to be fair I only drop in to about one of every five WallyWorld threads, so it sorta balances out.

I don’t shop there and encourage my friends and family to boycott them as well.

I did sorta put my money where my mouth is this past Christmas, the best friend has a large family and claimed she had to shop Wal*mart for the cheaper prices on stocking stuffers. I handed her a hundred and asked her to shop a local WM competitor instead, figuring it’d even out. She accepted the cash and did as I asked, and we’ve made plans to do the same when back-to-school shopping time comes around.

Does that count?

And again, like I’ve asked twice now. What SHOULD we be doing? What, in your awesome wisdom are we missing in our endeavors?

At the moment, I regularly pass by the neighborhood Sam’s Club and go straight to Costco instead, since (a) Costco’s stuff is of better-quality, and (b) they treat their employees better.

In the long-term, however, I plan to have my orbital Wal-Mart nuking laser up and operational by 4Q 2006. Wish me luck!

Well why didn’t you say so in the FIRST place?

I believe that people weren’t so much attributing that suggestion to you, but that in the absence of something that you considered “acceptable” that they were resorting to it in frustration.

After all, I asked you twice before the huge pile on “what, other than boycotting, WOULD you like us to do?”, and that is the point at which you got all snotty about it, refused to explain what it was you were looking for and where people were getting frustrated with your continued “What have YOU done…” stance, where you weren’t giving us ANY ideas what you were looking for.
