It’s [Fear the Walking Dead](http://www.hitfix.com/the-dartboard/amcs-walking-dead-companion-series-is-now-fear-the-walking-dead). Somehow they have found a title that is simultaneously boring and easy to confuse with the original. ---

They could have at least followed zombie naming convention and had it be Fear **OF** The Walking Dead. ---

Even worse, fans will abbreviate it FTWD and there’s no acronym that someone could pronounce out of that. Unless maybe they go with FeTWaD… I’ve been thinking that they should base the title on a local group’s name for them. For example, in the original Walking Dead, there was a group that called them “rotters” instead of “walkers.” The Rotting Dead would be so much better as a title. I will definitely check the new series out. Part of my burn-out on the current TWD is exhaustion with some of the characters. My worry, though, is that we’ll get another group of equally irrational and frustrating characters and that’s not going to keep my attention for more than a couple episodes. ---

There were some good name suggestions in that article. How about some more? D_E_A_D_ - The Walking Dead takes place in the midst of a mobile surgical hospital in a war zone. Dead Agains Island - Obviously, they’re dead and on an island Ugly Deadies - A fashion magazine that employs the dead. ---

FWIW Rumors are that it is set earlier in the timeline when the Zombies were newly appearing. The brief glimpses we have seen of that time frame in TWD have been very interesting (for example it seems the US Military was as much a villain as the Zombies were) so I will definitely watch.
