I can KIND of understand why. They wanted to make sure that we, the public, would draw the conclusion that the two shows were linked and took place in the same universe. As opposed to all those OTHER TV shows about zombies… I think there’s one on SyFy, isn’t there? Coulda been worse. “Walking Dead: Los Angeles.” Which I guess is slightly better than “Walking Dead: Special Victims Unit,” or whatever. And despite the silly title, I’m curious to see it. In the original series and graphic novel alike, we join the action in media res as Rick awakes, a month into the zombie apocalypse. Hell, half the first issue is just Rick trying to get out of the hospital with a zombie horde in hot pursuit. FTWD is promising to walk us through the opening days of Kirkman’s zombie apocalypse. Will he do cool stuff with it, or will it come across like yet another SyFy Original Movie? Guess we’ll find out. ---

I wonder if the two show’s will ever crossover? Could people in LA make it to DC? I don’t see why not. If it were me, I’d be tempted to make my way to a Caribbean island or something. ---

It’s been established that six seconds of TWD footage will be cameoing in FTWD. I’m betting that the Bombing of Atlanta will be shown on TV during the time before LA comes completely apart. Aside from that, I’d bet no one has planned any crossovers yet. ---

The ten second ad they showed last night confirms the rumors: it is set very early in the Apocalypse. Strange news stories of a “flu” on the radio etc. I like it! Not even the comics touched this territory. It could make for a good show. ---
