Walking to Work

I used to live two blocks from my office. I walked to and from their every day.

I now live about 3 1/2 miles from work. I don’t walk there, but sometimes I walk home, if the weather’s fine and I got the time.

I walked to work for about 7 years when I lived in Shanghai. It took 35 minutes through a beautiful neighborhood filled with villas from the 1920’s-1940’s, past Yao Ming’s elementary school, through a big ass park, and into one of the big crossroads in Shanghai (Xujiahui). It was great except during pouring rains and during the hottest/humid months of summer.

In my last job, I used to cycle 6 miles or so to work most days (I chickened out when it was raining).

Yes, I walked to work for about 2 years. However, I picked that apartment building since it was walkable to work as well as having a good bar and a grocery store also within walking distance. I’ve considered moving to walking distance for my current job.

Yeah its only 36 miles so I walk, no big deal.

I live 11 blocks to my workplace and unless it’s bitter cold or pouring rain I walk. Not that I can get a cab when it’s either of those anyway?

Bring out your dead!

When I was office-based I’d walk a mile to the train station on my end and a half mile from station to office at the other end. Add in walking to the town centre for lunch and I’d average 5 miles a day.

I walk 8 miles a day at work, so … I cycle there
