I saw the surgeon yesterday.
The surgery will take place on March 10.
I’ll be in the hospital for 5 days and then they’ll kick me out. Unless there’s complications.
The surgeon said that everything will go just fine. I’m not overweight, I don’t smoke, don’t drink much, and I’m relatively young.
My only concern is the nurses. I tell you, it’s a curse, this animal magnetism of mine.
Thank you for thinking of me, techchick. You’re a sweetheart.

Glad to know that things are looking good. Please remind us (specially those of us that are memory impaired) when you are heading in so we can give you some words of encouragement.
Nothing like having some happy thoughts come your way when ungoing such a surgery!

And remember, mon, no matter what they say, a ballpeen hammer to the noggin is **not** acceptable local anestisia(sp!).

I think we should donate money to get you a laptop so you can post to the SDMB while you are in there.
I hear you can’t do that in hospitals, but they should allow it, if you are feeling okay there’s only so many magazines and games of real solitaire a person can handle.
Man, if I am ever admitted to a hospital for any length of time I will demand internet access! I am so weird!

I work in the Recovery Room in a hospital, and let me tellya, no patient uses a laptop in there! You’ll be too conked out to do much anything! 😉 Get some sleep, then have someone smuggle it into your room on the floor and you’ll be good to go.
