> They hung a lampshade on that in an issue of _X-Men_ a year or so ago. The mutants have developed a method that allows any mutant who has died to be reborn, and when Jean greeted several newly-resurrected mutants, she mentioned (paraphrasing), “I’ve come back from the dead a lot.”

They joked in the final episode of Agents of SHIELD that they pretty much everyone on the team had died in one way or another and been brought back. Some of them multiple times.

> When the reality bubble breaks, I’m pretty sure we’ll see Vision on a robot-life-support table, or something similar.

Maybe. I was originally thinking it was going to be all in Wanda’s head, basically some kind of psychotic break or a magic driven micro-reality but then they showed the scene with Geraldine ejected from the town and the Sword agents surrounding the place with a prison-like cordon. So that strongly implies that this is a real place and they are either keeping Wanda in or she’s keeping them out. Aesthetically, it feels more like the former, but then Wanda had the power to eject her, so I’m leaning towards the latter.

I don’t fully understand how the Hydra and Strucker people are infiltrating this, neither really is in power at this point in the MCU, so I’m not sure if they are real or not. Are they actually moving through time and are these old Stark and Strucker ads/gadgets real or are they just a message being injected into the false reality for some reason?

Anyways, since this is all apparently about Wanda, I’m leaning against there being a fragmented Vision at the center of this. I think that the Vision in this show is almost entirely of Wanda’s making instead of some reconstruction.

When Wanda breaks character in Ep 1, she orders Vision to help the choking boss. In Ep. 2, Wanda gets upset by the beekeeper and time reverses until she and Vision are back inside, and in Ep. 3, Vision mentions some of the weirdness they’ve seen and time glitches and Vision says something else instead - all point to Wanda being in charge.

Don’t know about the commercials - it’s possible that Wanda is deciding which side to be on, subconsciously choosing between “sponsorship” by Hydra or Shield.

I don’t think Wanda is fully in control and the commercials area reflection of that.

The commercials all seem to be related to a past trauma, possibly leading up to Vision’s death. The first was about a beeping Stark device, AKA the missile that killed her parents. The second was obviously about Strucker giving her powers. I think the “float away” line in the third was about Ultron destroying Sokovia.

I’d bet good money the next one will be about her brother dying. And then maybe her blowing up the building in Lagos.

I’m trying to determine if the 2 obvious time dilation things are one in the same, or if they are different phenomena. Big picture, the episodes are pretty clearly jumping ahead in time a decade each. These day-to-day events portrayed are certainly moving at what appears to be a normal pace, but each episode has a big jump. It’s unclear if there’s a significant time gap happening off-screen between episodes. Then there was the episode 3 which had the fast forward pregnancy which all happened in-episode and was highly compressed. That felt like a bit of a different effect, but in this silly sitcom world that kind of inconsistency is common so I’m not sure how to evaluate it.

Deconstructing this series as it happens, and slowly unraveling its meanings, reminds me a lot of True Detective S1. I’m really looking forward to E4 on Friday.

Oooh, that’s good. I assumed it was her taking on control of her powers, but it was far more vague than the first 2.

Wanda became pregnant _before_ the jump to the 70’s. And in episode 2, Wanda mentioned they were still new in town. So I think we’ve really only seen a few days pass.

IIRC, Vision had said the pregnancy was only a day old. It seems like each episode is only one day long in Westview time. No telling how long the are in “real time.” It’s possible, since the Sward agent was watching it “live,” that it may only be thirty minutes each in real time.

Oh, I’d be disappointed if we learned that so quickly. 🙂

Meanwhile, this article has a whole thread of speculation that will be new to those of us who don’t follow Marvel comics, but it’s intriguing. I’d be interested in what the Marvel readers here have to say.

Not a reader of the comic books but learned enough here from those responding to my early reaction to the “For the Children” chant and her immaculate conception as having very Rosemary’s Baby feel, that her twins may have a connection to a rebirth of that … is it appropriate to call him an “eldritch horror”?

For me, the slow delivery of episodes is really working. I like having the time to think about the episodes, “water cooler” them a bit (without worrying about someone accidentally giving away spoilers because they’re already done with the series), and then anticipate the next.
That’s not true of every show - some shows really work better if you don’t have that much time to think between episodes, and for some, it doesn’t matter either way. But for this one, I think it’s a good call.

Wondering whether the helicopter Wanda found in the bushes was originally the way “Geraldine” got into town in the first place (and was the source of the “booms” in Episode 2 as it flew through the barrier). After all, things…change…in Westview. A lot.

Which would confirm the theory that “Geraldine” was working for SWORD.

</div>

When “Geraldine” pursued the question about Pietro and Ultron? Was that her just losing character or do you think she made a calculated risk to try to connect with Wanda into the main world reality, to see if she could be reached, only to find out a hard landing way that Wanda does not want to be reached right now?

I’m betting on the latter, that it was a calculated decision, that may not have reached Wanda but that still gave whatever team she is part of information they need, that real world Wanda is aware and actively enforcing and maintaining the delusional bubble reality.

My feeling is, when Wanda started reminiscing, she temporarily lost her ultimate control, and a gap opened up that Geraldine could sneak into. Also she was reminded by the mention of Pietro, which helped snap her out of it too, for just a moment. Then Wanda whipped back into control, and that’s when she went all Galadriel on Monica and jettisoned her out of the bubble.

_Spoiler for future episodes;_ What Exit?Or I could have just read the [Wikipedia page for the series](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WandaVision), which also confirms it. And also that we’ll be seeing Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) “solving a mystery” together.
