You know, the strangest things will trigger memories. I read your thread title and was suddenly transported back to my delightfully misspent youth and the weirdest of my weird friends, Chris, saying in this really weird voice, “Wanna buy a duck?” Of course, he also had two pet ducks named Function and Gullible that he marched in the local (obviously small-town) 4th of July parade on leashes… Ah, those were the days. Also, the drugs. 😃 ---

There it is! Been looking for several minutes for this. ca. 1930 - 1940. Guy by the name of [Joe Penner](http://www.angelfire.com/ca7/loyaltubist/OTR_j.html) (CAUTION: Angelfire site - pop-ups galore) (Oh yes, and when you finally get to the page, scroll down to his name.). Radio comedian and movie actor. Penner contributed two sayings in his short career. First was _“You na-aa-aaa-aaa-aaa-sty man!”_ and the other was _“Wanna buy a duck?”_ ---
