Wanna hear a funny supermarket story?

This reminded me of something funny that happened to a good friend of mine a couple of years ago. He had met a Chinese woman who, while she spoke English pretty well, had just arrived the week before and was unfamiliar with our “strange American customs”. They were walking down Michigan Ave in Chicago one evening and came upon a homeless man asking for handouts. My friend gave him a dollar and they kept walking. A minute or so later, she asked him why he gave the man a dollar. “He needed the dollar more than I did and I believe that kindness is always returned threefold” my friend said. He barely got the words out of his mouth when he looked down and there on the sidewalk were three $1 bills, neatly folded together. The girl was quite impressed! After he stopped laughing he had to explain to her that it doesn’t usually happen that fast or that literally.
