# Wanna see who can make the most noise?  I'll take that bet, motherfucker.

Here’s an idea I just came up with.

Go down to a Goodwill store and get boom box–you can probably get one pretty cheap. It will probably have a cassette player. Even a CD player will work, as long as you have CD burning capability. You shouldn’t have to spend more that $10 or so, perhaps a little more for batteries.

Record the loudest, nastiest music you can think of. BUT…leave 5 minutes or so of silence at the beginning of the tape/CD.

Get up real early in the morning and place the boom box on the offender’s doorstep. With a note saying \*“I don’t like listening to your noise. Knock it off!!” \*

Queue the CD/cassette, turn the volume to 11, hit “Play”, and make a hasty retreat. It may not solve the problem, but I think you’ll feel better!

For your listening consideration, it’s [Freakin’ Out The Neighbours…](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=282477) I gotta go with the X-Ray Spex, actually, especially on “World Turned Dayglo”, where Poly Styrene defies the laws of physics to shift up an octave, and then the patterns on the wallpaper do that “jump to lightspeed” thing.
