Depends whether the number includes 0/1 (which don’t have any letter attached) and/or 7/9 (which have 4 instead of the usual 3). Don’t ask me to factor that in, I don’t math good enough. But simplifying to 1 digit = 3 letters, the number of permutations would be 3^7, or 2187. 4^7 ( 16,384) if you added the digit. Wouldn’t it ? ---

I have a difficult time accepting that some numbers have 4 letters — kind of old-school, I guess. And really kind of annoyed that they had to put S at the last position on 7, given how much it gets used in English. Kind of odd that your figure works out to a sort of anagram of mine. ---

Seconding that someone who is looking for something inappropriate can find it in all that statistical noise isn’t really significant. Unless you’re suggesting it was some kind of hidden fnord message from the so-called administration gloating over how affordable care will screw us all. ---

The fact that it’s a couple characters away from being an obscenity may give a chuckle to the pre-adolescent crowd but that’s about it. I suppose if one had the time you could find similar near-obscenities in all kinds of numbers from all kinds of unlikely sources. ---

I can just see someone desperately trying each letter/number combination, and after days of toil, finally arriving at “Ah ha! It sort of looks like ‘fuck you’ if you spell ‘you’ as ‘yo’ and add the number 1 in there somewhere.” Terrible performance. 1/10. ---
