If you are going to go with a CPU that fast I would go with faster RAM. 3200 is the default speed for the new Ryzen chips. A lot of the reviews I have seen/read recommend 3600 for the 3700+ and up.

I am also not sure if you need 64 GB of ram. I am using 16 and I am not having any issues. Unless you are doing some crazy stuff 32 GB should be enough.

I actually went with the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X per **Jophiel’s** suggestion, but I’m going to stick with the RAM I already ordered since that was what [CGDirector.com](http://CGDirector.com) suggested. I am not confident enough about choosing CPUs, RAM and MOBOs to avoid screwing something up.

Yeah, 64 GB RAM is almost certainly overkill, but I can’t help thinking that I’ll need to get to that amount sooner or later.

Ryzen processors benefit from the fastest RAM possible but, if you already ordered it, I wouldn’t worry enough to return/exchange or anything.
