Well, it appears that I won’t have to worry about balancing my schoolwork with playing, because I can’t play in my room (my internet isn’t working on the Windows partition). If I want to boot up CoH, I have to go to the library or somewhere else with wireless access. ---

And also to take the 4 Halloween costume salvage parts you need for an extra costume slot ; there’s scads of those in base storage. You give them to Annah in Croatoa, the lady dressed like a witch just off the IIRC northwest edge of the tram platform. Take the Green Line to get there; it’s in north steel Canyon/South Skyway. ---

Well, right now, a lot of people will be hitting the Test Server for the Open Beta of I16. I got in the last wave of the Closed last Friday and there is some really nice stuff in this issue. ---

So is the new system for setting mission difficulty. You can set it so you are considered to be a team of up to 8 people, say whether or not you want any bosses to show up in spawns, whether or not you want AVs to appear, and what level you want the mobs to be to you, including -1. I was running JB through radio missions +1 level, 8 man team, with bosses and it was a real blast. It means no more requests for padding teams, plus the new side kicking system means no more bridging. (Although I believe there are still some bugs with that.) ---

A note to those who have not been in the I16 beta: in order to access the Powers area of the character creator for an existing character, at least one costume piece needs to be changed first. ---

Since the debacle of Issue 2 being rushed out before it was fully tested, they have been very careful. It can get annoying having to wait for the new Issue, but it sure beats a major patch every other day. ---

So now I’m level 12, with four Dual Origin enhancements (none of which I can use), and I’m planning to get Super-Speed once I hit 14. Is Ice Armor/Fire Melee/Speed pool a decent set, or would I be better off starting a new character with a different, more powerful/versatile build and knowing more than I did when I created Androclea? ---

Decent enough, but slow to mature and lowish damage as Tanks are ( and how I wish someone other than Tanks got Ice Armor ). Speed’s fine, especially since you’ll be able to get unlimited Raptor Packs in Issue 16, so the lack of vertical ability doesn’t matter much. However, the general rule when you ask “should I start a new character” is yes, IMHO. 🙂 This game really is designed to cater to altitis. Make a scrapper; make a controller or blaster or brute. See what you like.
