Went to the salon, so I’ll be tossing my hair coquettishly while I type this, just because. Also went to the doc in a box. She said, “It’s probably the auto-immune thing” and suggested seeing my doc. So no answers, but at least she yell, “Wow!” and call in all the docs. I’d have charged $5 a peek. I ain’t no amateur. Evening all. Recyclable’s have been picked up and bills paid, bath taken and dinner consumed, so all is right with the world. Will be out tomorrow morning to distribute picture packets for those who didn’t make it last week, if they miss this time it’ll be after Thanksgiving before they get them. **FCM** , glad car and trip are in good standing. **flyboy** , I got rid of my trees many years ago a couple years after I bought the house (before they got to large) and don’t regret it a bit–especially in the fall… **Sari** , hope Sah-son is feeling better. Don’t think I’ve ever had a screaming nightmare, and I’m too old to start. **Cookie** , glad wifey’s report is good, hope they find something inconsequential is causing her problems. **nellie** , Italy, eh? I’m trying to find a cruise for Spain/France/Italy in 2022 that is reasonably affordable, and will need a roomie… OK, that’s all for tonight. I’m with ya **kitty**! That sounds like an amazing green bean casserole **hippy**. Your brother and his partner have good taste about the reveal **nut**. Home is clean, the new vacuum put together and tried out, groceries bought and, drumroll, maintenance completed three of five work orders. 😮 He was in and replaced the ballcock assembly in the commode, replaced the disposer of garbage and, instead of merely replacing the fluorescent tubes in the kitchen, replace the whole fixture with an LED one. Now the kitchen is so bright that I can see where I need to do some cleaning that the dimness covered up before. 😛 As a bonus, he replaced the battery in the smoke detector while he had the ladder out. 🙂 ---

Wound up doing another supply run, desiring some smallish turkey components (no point in getting a whole bird when I’m the only one in the house who likes turkey). Two stores, both with somewhat sparse shelves, both with long checkout lines. ---

Washington, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the U.S.S. _Santa Cart_. I DO think it helps keep me safer… I noticed drivers giving me a wide berth, though that may have been because they’re afraid of crazy people. Speaking of odd…I was walking to the PO (with lights off) when a pickup truck pulled up to the curb, and a smiling lady in the passenger seat asked if I needed a ride. I politely declined. Wasn’t that nice of them? Except…it was a mini-pickup: two seats only. Did they expect me to ride in the bed (which I think is illegal here)? I had visions of myself ​riding in the back atop the upturned Santa Cart, singing “Jesus Put a Yodel in My Heart,” and pausing now and then to yell, “You sure this is a new way to the post office?” It’s possible I read too much Flannery O’Connor in my youth. **Boo** , your kitty’s is pretty. I don’t know how you keep from spoiling them rotten. (_Cats: It’s not spoiling…It’s tributes._) **nut** , I agree that your brother deserves the Golden Cannoli Award. And congrats on the forthcoming niece! Oh, what fun you’ll have! ---

I find it somewhat disturbing that you’re up and going to work before I have finished my breakfast. There’s a whole ocean between us. I hope the heaving goes well and all the machines cooperate. Too much excitement this week. I think my cold is finally done, but losing heat and hot water on Wednesday night did not help. Thursday morning was chilly. Fortunately it was a simple electrical fault which has been fixed. Today is leftovers for lunch, unless we stop and get something while out shopping. Hubby’s winter coat needs a new zipper pull. He tried something last year, so he could wear it, but the temporary solution didn’t last long. So now we’ll take it to a proper repair place, and hopefully get my boots fixed as well. The soles fell off, in February 2020, and they’ve been sitting in my office ever since. Except for the glue problem, they are really nice boots. Happy Saturday! ---

Herein lies the solution - I make a casserole, with icky-sticky marshmallows on one side for _those_ people and brown sugar and pecans on the other, for sensible folk! Brilliant, n’est-ce pas?? Or, I suppose, two small casserole dishes so the marshmallows don’t touch the pecans. It’s a frosty 28° F in my back yard - probably the same in the front yard. 😉 **FCD** wants to start tidying his shop. At some point, I’ll go out there and fire up the pellet stove. Once it’s at a reasonable temperature, we’ll go attack the mess that has accumulated in there over the months. We’ll work as long as he has the energy. Got the quote for a new HVAC system, but I’m a little ticked - we asked for the 16 SEER system and he quoted the 14 SEER. So I emailed back and asked for another quote. He did offer 0% for 18 months - that makes it easier on us than pulling a chunk of cash out all at once. Still not fun, but what’cha gonna do? Gotta have heat… I may make a Food Lion run later for the last of what I need to make Thanksgiving dinner. And I’m thinking of baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies for my car guys because they’re good guys! And because I’m nice, dammit! 😉 We’ll see how the day goes. Happy Saturday!!
