as a brit i can’t understand why we declared war on hitler?? he annexed poland into germany for there own protection!!! whats it got to do with everyone else?? the russians invaded poland ten days after to taKE LAND AND NOTHING WAS SAID??? ---

Ogre have you ever actually eaten a Toad in the Hole? Leaving the name out of it, they are nice :). IMO at least. The Sussex Pond Pudding was a dismal failure though… ---

Yes, Primaflora, I have, and I must apologize. I actually like them. My best friend’s wife (a Brit in good standing) makes them for me all the time. How is it possible that a Brit has such a faulty understanding of World War II? As a baseline, I’d expect at least a jingoistic support of the Allies’ role in that little tiff. ---

OpalCat, A toad in the hole is an unfortunately named British dish. Is consists of sausage baked inside a thick, very slightly sweet, biscuit-y sort of dough. They’re good. ---

The newbie asked a legitimate question and all you can do is make fun of his grammar, his spelling, his nationality, his breath and then run off on a tangent about stickwick staples and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Ogre, It’s batter (just like a thick pancake batter), not dough and it shouldn’t be sweet at all. You might have had it with onion gravy, which can sometimes make it taste a bit sweet. ---
