So is there any word, a net site, or anyplace with information about what Americans in other countries should be doing, now that we are going to attack? I’m talking about a list of higher risk countries or warnings for specific places that sort of thing. I worry that I will be attacked just because I am an American and I would like to know what to watch out for beyond the normal day to day threats here. Thanks ---

Thanks \*\* EJsGirl \*\*that’s good info, however, very general aimed at the tourist. I’m talking about an updated place with \*very \*recent info, like latest intelligence reports, like “Avoid churches in São Salvadore today”, That kind of thing. FWIW I did book mark that site though. ---

Probably each individual consulate issues daily warnings in-country. I don’t know if they would be online, though. Ah, I finally noticed your location. Now I get it! D’oh! ---

I mean something like the alert system we have in the USA. Or perhaps known recent threats against Americans as a result of the political situation. Fear of kidnap or assault is a way of life around here, I just would like to know if there is anything beyond the norm going on, where, and what to look our for. ---

The Brits have some good info for their citizens starting at [http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1007029390572](http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1007029390572) (Will someone please show me how to do the shortcuts and replace long links with a simple word like “here”)…? They also provide links as to other countries’ advice on any particular country. Brazil sounds like a place in which one should be careful… (But not really more careful than many other places). ---

But if you want to find out how to make link text other than an URL, follow the “help” link in the “vB Code” cell of the message posting table.
