Absolutely, just as Britain, painfully, hung on in Ulster to successfully prevent sectarian war. In fact, I’d advocate it all the more strongly in Iraq because in the indescribably unlikely event that Iraqis did nuke US cities, we both know that there would be cries in the US to remove the troops from Iraq in order to nuke it.

Question: “War supporters”: At what point would you call for withdrawal?

Answer 1: When Katrina hits New Orleans and Mississippi, and all US military paratroopers in Iraq are immediately ordered to load into C-130s and C-17s, heading for Mississippi and drop with their parachutes at the middle of the disaster area in Louisiana in less than 24 hours – and become true super heroes.

Answer 2: When the $6 billion per month spent in Iraq is immediately diverted to Louisiana, Mississippi and all other poverty stricken areas in the United States badly needing decent housing and repair/creation of infrastructure.
